A Mobile Advertising presentation at the Internationale Filmschule Köln in Cologne, Germany.
I traveled to Cologne, Germany to present at the Mobile Animation Conference which was held at the Internationale Filmschule Köln. The hour long presentation focused on the conceptual, creative, and technical aspects of a commercial mobile build. Multiple past projects were referenced to illustrate the core challenges that are faced in today’s builds. In-depth discussion covered SMS, MMS, SMART Messaging, QRCodes, Handset Detection, Progressive vs. Streaming Mobile downloads, and touched upon the introductory phases of iPhone development - which at the moment is not available in Europe.
This was an English presentation to a primarily German speaking audience. It was interesting to note that many of the same challenges being faced over in Europe with mobile development are very similar to what we are facing here in the US. From what I could gather from the other lectures, we as a community are approaching these challenges from the same standpoint, which is somewhat promising in terms of overcoming some of these challenges.
After I gave my presentation in Germany, I flew out to London to attend a few meetings and present to a few additional audiences. I also had a chance to work out of the London R/GA office for a few days. I had an extra afternoon to hit the museums, see below.

There was an incredible Zara Hadid exhibition featured at the London Design Museum.

The Design Museum was also featuring a Matthew Wiliamson exhibition. His use of vibrant color and patterns was very inspiring.
